Worried about emotional eating? Feeling overwhelmed by thoughts about food, exercise and your body?
Nutrition counselling can help you break down food rules, dismantle the dieting mentality and rediscover trust in your body.
Have you ever felt as though your relationship with food is getting a little bit complicated? By drawing upon frameworks such as Intuitive Eating and weight-inclusive approaches to health, I’ll help you figure out that nutrition is not based on just WHAT you eat, it’s also the why and how.
Intuitive Eating is an evidence-based, health-promoting intervention which starts by understanding and unpicking the layers of dieting messages that many of us have internalised through living in a culture which constantly encourages dietary restriction and restraint in order to strive towards a very narrow body ideal.
We then work from the ground up to cultivate a way of eating that is based on your own body’s internal cues for hunger, pleasure and satiety, whilst learning to respect and take care of your body as it is now… not in a couple of clothes sizes from now. Intuitive Eating helps you to challenge the plethora of food rules that have accumulated over time, make peace with ALL foods and learn ways to understand emotional eating.
What does nutrition counselling involve?
Working on your relationship with food takes time and practice. Sessions are usually held weekly-fortnightly over Zoom, giving you the chance to consolidate the skills we develop in previous sessions and keep the momentum going. Nutrition counselling sessions are sold in packages of sessions to enable me to provide extra support and communication between sessions.

Nutrition Counselling: Initial Assessment
This 75-minute initial consultation gives us a chance to take a deep dive into how your relationship with food has evolved over time. We’ll spend time talking about what matters to you and the steps you would like to take towards a more peaceful relationship with food. We’ll take a look at how we might start work on building a more positive relationship with food, guided by the principles of Intuitive Eating.

Nutrition Counselling: Follow-Up Package
These follow-up blocks of sessions each include four 50-minute sessions where we will lay the ground-work and consolidate the skills you have developed to work through the principles of Intuitive Eating. All packages include ongoing support between sessions, if required, including email contact with between session ‘homework’, up to one 10-minute check-in phone call and letters to your other healthcare providers if necessary.
